Liptember and Me

Liptember is an initiative to raise funds and awareness about gender specific mental issues for women. As part of this , women are encouraged to buy and wear the 'Liptember' lippy in month of September and raise funds to be donated to Centre for Women's Mental Health and Lifeline Australia.

This year, the Liptember lippy is Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Hibiscus, a pretty coral color balm.
It can be bought from Myer and retails at $10 AUD.

I got mine from Myer last week and have been wearing it everyday, even though I am staying mostly at home.

  • Its a very pretty sheer coral color
  • Its very moisturising

Note : I have referred to official Liptember website for some of the information. Please head to www.liptember.com for more information

Bloom Boost Lip Balms

I have always been troubled with dry lips and this cold winter is not helping me either. So, when I read that Bloom has collaborated with Boost Juice Smoothies to bring out 6 news lip balms , it got me intrigued...lip balm in flavor of smoothies..interesting.
I will not lie, but my first thought on reading the Press Release was that its another gimmicky product.
To put to its real test, I stopped applying any lip balm for 2 straight days and let my lips go to the driest possible state. Things we do to test products !!

About the lip balm

There are 6 flavors to choose from
  • Strawberry Squeeze
  • Watermelon Crush
  • Berry Bang
  • Mango Tango
  • Banana Buzz
  • Tropical Storm
Each one of them contain soothing beeswax, nourishing jojoba seed oil and moisturising Vitamin E.
They are free of Parabens,Petrochemicals,Mineral Oils and Silicones

What I like about them:
  • The fact that it lives up to its promise of moisturising and nourishing the lips
  • It lasts quite long on lips even with all drinking and eating
  • It doesn't feel waxy or heavy on lips
  • I can easily wear it under lipstick
  • The Boost flavor is not overpowering.
  • Works great as overnight balm
  • The oblong shape of the tube itself makes it very easy to apply.

What I don't like about them:
If only they had some SPF content in them they would have scored perfect 10.

I love it so much that I carry it around with me. Its a winner for me.

Would I recommend it : Yes. In fact I am going to buy few for my sisters.

Availability: Myers, David Jones, Addicted to lip balm( for online purchases)
Price: $ 6.95 AUD

Disclaimer:  The product was sent for consideration but the opinions are mine.

Review : Lanolips 101

I have always been tormented with dry flaky lips all year round and its gets worse when its cold.I can't tell you how bad it is, I can't wear lipstick and it hurts.
So, in one of my trips to Priceline I picked up this little gem, "The Original Lanolips"

What I liked

-> The consistency. It thinner than vaseline and is easy to spread on lips
-> There is no smell or taste which is a big plus
-> There is no sensation of any sorts when applied
-> Use it overnight and it works magic

What I didn't like

-> It can't be worn under lipstick, so I have to mostly wear it overnight or when I have no lipcolor
-> It has to be applied using fingers as there is no slanted tips. This is real pain
when travelling and you want to reapply it

But,all in all, its a great product for people who are out there with dry lips.

Price : Approx $17.00 AUD ( I have had this for long so the price is an approximation)
