Holiday Haul Part One

What is a holiday if there is no haul ..I am mean you need to have something more than holiday pictures..isn't it :-))  I personally look forward to buying from duty free shops to avoid paying ridiculous Australians RRPs.

**Post is picture heavy**

The first part of haul will comprise of all things I bought from duty free shops( in Delhi, Singapore). I have more to share but other parts will come as I unpack the bags ( yes, I have been that busy !!)

The first item is Guerlain Rouge G lipstick. I have to thank my younger sister for this. She bought #6 from this range( from Delhi Duty Free) and recommended me to check it out. I bought #8 ( Gisele) which she had chosen earlier.
Quoting from my memory I bought this for $ 45 USD .
I love everything about this lipstick, from packaging, to color and texture. I know this isn't the last lipstick from this range.

I picked up this Bobbi Brown Rich Color lipstick in Pink Peony. Its creamy and is opaque in one swipe. The lipstick wears off leaving a stain which I like.

I can never buy Dior Addict lipstick without thinking about Tara from keepingupwithme . I read about these first on her blog. I picked Nude(333) from this range. Its a beautiful lipstick, moisturizing, good pigmentation and lovely texture. In Australia this retails for $48 AUD while I picked it for $29 USD. No wonder, Australians prefer to buy from overseas.

I also picked Chanel Levres Scintillantes (131, Mica) and Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss (57, Insolence). I love how they feel on my lips. Mica has beautiful reflecting shimmer which looks awesome on lips. Its not sticky and is non drying. I was really surprised by Insolence, since it managed to show up on my pigmented lips.

You remember how I raved about chanel vitalumiere satin foundation, so how could I go past buying it if I was getting it for $48 USD ( from memory its 80 AUD here). And when I am getting a foundation then I need a great coverage concealer, isn't it *shifty eyes*. So next up was Estee Lauder Double wear Concealer in Medium.

Yes, I am faking it

Yes, I am faking healthy skin and you ask why
  • cause I am functioning on little sleep
  • cause my skincare routine is all over the place
  • cause my skin has developed a mind and mood of its own
And, my partner in crime is Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation

What Company Website Says

Inspired by the cult Asian market Beauty Balm creams, Skin Base Foundation is a brand new, refined formula unlike anything on the UK market. Easily blendable, it effortlessly creates a perfect complexion, and like the entire Illamasqua foundation range, is undetectable in a professional HD environment. Suitable for all skin types, it smoothes, softens and conditions your skin whilst providing natural, buildable coverage.

Packaging

The foundation comes in a squeeze bottle packaging which releases just enough product to cover the entire face. Being a squeeze bottle means its hygienic and easy for carrying/using without fear of any germs or spillage. The packaging is also sleek enough to be tucked in handbag, to do touch ups if required

Color

It comes in over 12 shades and I was matched to No 12 , for reference I am NC42 in MAC Studio Fix

Performance

The first reaction which I got when I used SBF was "Your skin is looking healthy". This was real big since I had pregnancy pigmentation and dry skin.
I put it to test when I was moving house and wore it with my daily moisturizer. It gave me good coverage resulting in healthy looking skin and yet very natural. The foundation lasted me good 6 hours with no touch ups.

I applied it with my fingers and it has become my go to foundation with its stellar performance
What I Like About It :

  • The fact that I fake healthy skin with it
  • The coverage it had to offer.
  • The staying power of SBF
What I Don't Like About It :
  •   I can't think of anything which I don't like about this product
Would I Recommend It : Of course yes
Availability : Illamasqua counter in Myer
Price : $66 AUD ( Approx)

Review : Chanel Vitalumiere Satin Foundation

As part of my foundation trials, today, I will share my opinion on Chanel Vitalumiere Satin foundation

I have seen Pixiwoos generally wearing this foundation in their videos and I loved how there skin glowed.
So in one of my many trips to Myer I picked a sample of this foundation.

 Colour I was matched to : 40

 What I liked about it:
  •  Perfect color match
  • Coverage is real good so little goes long way.
  • It gives me nice and dewy finish
  • It agrees with my dry skin
And best is, it doesn't look like that I am wearing foundation. Only I know that I have covered all redness and sunspots ;-))

What I didn't like about it:

Its price. But its okay since I know 1 bottle will last me long even with daily use.

 Will I Buy it : Ofcourse !!

Another word of advice, try not to buy foundation without trialling it first.

Review : MAC Face & Body Foundation

As part of my foundation trials, today, I will share my opinion on MAC Face & Body foundation

Colour I was matched to : C4

What I liked about it:

  •  Although it looks to have grey tones in bottle but it matches me perfectly
  •  Coverage is real good
  •  Its transfer resistant
  •  Its long wearing.

What I didn't like about it:

  •   Its dries real fast. So you need to be real quick with blending. Its slightly easier if you have a primer.
  •   I found it drying without hydrating primer. But its perfectly okay when worn with primer.

Will I Buy it : It depends on how other foundations perform

Another word of advice, try not to buy foundation without trialling it first.

Review : Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation

For past few months I have been trialling some foundations. I had got all of them as samples from the department store
The ones I trialled are
  •  Estee Lauder
  •  MAC Face & Body Foundation
  •  Chanel Vitalumiere Satin

Today, I will share my opinion on EL Double Wear Light Foundation

Colour I was matched to : No.3

What I liked about it:

  •  The color is perfect match
  •  Coverage is real good and little goes long way
  •  Its transfer resistant
  •  Its long wearing. It has lasted whole 10 hours of wear both with and without primer

What I didn't like about it:

I found it drying without hydrating primer. Okay, you need to realise that I have dry skin and I don't like
things which cling to skin.
But its perfectly okay when worn with primer.

Will I Buy it : It depends on how other foundations perform
