Holiday Haul Part One

What is a holiday if there is no haul ..I am mean you need to have something more than holiday pictures..isn't it :-))  I personally look forward to buying from duty free shops to avoid paying ridiculous Australians RRPs.

The first part of haul will comprise of all things I bought from duty free shops( in Delhi, Singapore). I have more to share but other parts will come as I unpack the bags ( yes, I have been that busy !!)

The first item is Guerlain Rouge G lipstick. I have to thank my younger sister for this. She bought #6 from this range( from Delhi Duty Free) and recommended me to check it out. I bought #8 ( Gisele) which she had chosen earlier.
Quoting from my memory I bought this for $ 45 USD .
I love everything about this lipstick, from packaging, to color and texture. I know this isn't the last lipstick from this range.

  

 

I picked up this Bobbi Brown Rich Color lipstick in Pink Peony. Its creamy and is opaque in one swipe. The lipstick wears off leaving a stain which I like.

 

I can never buy Dior Addict lipstick without thinking about Tara from keepingupwithme . I read about these first on her blog. I picked Nude(333) from this range. Its a beautiful lipstick, moisturizing, good pigmentation and lovely texture. In Australia this retails for $48 AUD while I picked it for $29 USD. No wonder, Australians prefer to buy from overseas.

I also picked Chanel Levres Scintillantes (131, Mica) and Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss (57, Insolence). I love how they feel on my lips. Mica has beautiful reflecting shimmer which looks awesome on lips. Its not sticky and is non drying. I was really surprised by Insolence, since it managed to show up on my pigmented lips.

You remember how I raved about chanel vitalumiere satin foundation, so how could I go past buying it if I was getting it for $48 USD ( from memory its 80 AUD here). And when I am getting a foundation then I need a great coverage concealer, isn't it *shifty eyes*. So next up was Estee Lauder Double wear Concealer in Medium.

StrawberryNet Haul

Last month I had gone on self imposed spending ban, which was very hard to follow. I am not sure if I can try going on another one soon.

Just as the month was ending, I got an email from StrawberryNet that they were missing me and offering 20% discount on entire range. Now, who could resist such an offer specially since I had been holding off the shopping for so long. I was having hard time with shopping cart when  Anissa gave me a valuable suggestion - start with a cart full of everything I fancy and then start eliminating things which I didn't need. Believe me this really helps. Try it next time you are doing online shopping.

I ordered following

And a Pretty Fashion Makeup Kit was a gift with the order.

I had also gone for Express Posting and the total cost was $163.54 which included the express postage of  $9.26. There was considerable saving since a Chanel Quad retails at $98AUD.

I placed the order on 30 April and the package was delivered by morning of 6th May. Now, the package required signature on delivery so if you plan to use express post, please provide a delivery address where you would be available during day.

The package arrived all nicely bubble wrapped with all care taken since it had some powder and liquid products

A small note on their customer service. I was impressed by their responsiveness to my queries and the clarity of answers. This is what we need when doing online shopping.

So,all in all I am happy customer and will definitely go back for more.

MAC Shopping Experience

I generally don't do haul posts right after shopping..its always a delayed process when I can take nice pictures of products.
But, today is an exception because of the great customer service I experienced at MAC,Chadstone.

Generally, I have observed that MAC SAs behave very uptight and make you feel that they are doing us a favor by selling us makeup. But, today I was taken by surprise by awesome service provided by Karissa.

Few things which were remarkable about her service

• She was honest in her opinions, if it wasn't looking good she was upfront about it
• She wasn't pushy and trying to make me buy makeup ( as if I need pushing for it )
• She gave me space to feel comfortable & not breathing down my neck to make a decision
• She applied eye shadows to see the look unlike other SAs at same counter
• She was very helpful with her suggestions and opinions

So, thanks Karissa, I enjoyed the experience and will definitely come back for more.

New Kid On The Block

New Kid On The Block(NKOTB) a.k.a Haul

With effect from today, I shall be using term NKOTB for any hauled item.Just thought to spice up the blog.

Now, who is this new entrant to my world. Its actually not a single but a group of new lovely nail paints.



Names are as following:

-> Flashback Fuschia
-> Pepper Pot

The brand Ulta3 is an Aussie brand which retails very reasonable at $2.50. They can be found at Terrywhite Pharmacies.Although not very expensive, they have great color range and good quality.

I had bought them sometime back, but got to post them only today.
So many nail paints mean only one thing....many NOTDs to follow !!!

First the pics of what I bought last weekend



30% off on jewellery at David Jones generally means that I will be picking up new earrings. I absolutely love earrings and generally try to coordinate it with whatever dress I wear. So, last Saturday while walking through David Jones, I noticed the sale and started browsing. The best thing about this sale is that you have a great range of earrings to choose from even though its a sale.I generally wait for this sale to pick up some nice bargains. After all what more can you ask when you get great quality,brand at low price.Its win win.
Mr. M picked all the four earrings, but my most favourite on is the long one with silver leaf and pear(its not real ;-)). I can already see myself wearing this quite often.



On Friday, the same weekend we were strolling in shopping centre after work.Just as we were about leave Mr.M said "Look at your skin its looking so dry and patchy". Now I already knew that my skin was not in a very happy condition so what he said touched me even more. And even before I realised I was in Lush store talking to this nice helpful guy.I explained him my skin type(dry sensitive) and my concerns. On his suggestion I bought 2 Lush products

-> Aqua Marina daily cleanser
-> Oatifix facepack.

He also gave me samples for

-> Angels on Bare Skin ( exfoliant)
-> Ultrabland cleanser ( makeup remover).

And the highest point of my haul was Too Faced Natural Eye Palette..tadaaa....
I will review this seperately, but if you are all for neutrals then this is one for you.

And thus ended the haul drought :-)

And I present to you the haul which broke the camel's back and made me resolve not to buy anythng for 21 days. It was nothing about the things itself but it was the last before I went on the challenge





I had bought all Inglot products except for Revlon nailpaint. Got for myself 2 Inglot nailpaint, a cream blush and lipstick. I have already tried most of these stuff except for 1 nailpaint.
I have been wearing the blush everyday and its beautiful.In fact I will do a full review on it.I had picked this on sale, might go in today and see if they have more colors on sale.



And I picked these pretty darlings ( the coral pink & green ballet shoes) really cheap but they are so comfortable and cute. Real cutesy.
The taupe brown shoe is perfect for both formal and casual outings.

8. When you go and swatch products just for the high it provides
